Ant

Ant

A Poem by A.A.Romanczuk
"

Because I love ants

"

I am a scurrying speck

You may not see

But I hustle and bustle

And rarely am free

To relish the sweetness

Of a cool breeze

I'd like to enjoy

The world of a flower

But I must hustle and bustle

And breathe

My work is never done you see

Hunt and Carry and Harvest

Dig and Bury

Build and Build

Cannot you love me?

Ah, woe is me

At least do not dash and bash

And smash me

With your careless foot

I'd like to live too, if you please

This is a wonderful reminder to consider the ant.. those little ones that are all around us and constantly working to make their world better. Loved Bugs Life and loved this!

cute write...for an ant (who is genetically pre-programmed) there is freedom in uniformity...in...selflesslessly contributing to its community...investing its entirety in the species prosperity...caring for its progeny...living in a team environment where every being has a job to do and does it so completely...no one is better than the other...they live in total harmony...they have so much to teach us...to stray would find them lost and under threat...to be anything other than what they are would not be freedom at all...as a writer and artist i study some entomology for comparisons with human behaviour...art...and even psychology utilize ants as symbols and metaphors...i enjoyed the write. it made my think...it inspired me :)

You know..I used to be terrified of them, Moayad..then a few years..maybe three...I started observing them...they're quite fascinating...I love for them to walk all over my hands so that I can observe them closer..I give them names :D...haha..oh...I've just shared one of my deepest secrets :D But writerscafe people are different...I'm sure You shan't tease and if You must..I'm sure it'll be in good tone :D Thank You :)

Buahahaha, Oh Ed...You've absolutely made this day sparkle :D I know they don't always do things we consider to be...good...but then again neither do we...let us forgive their way of life as they are forced to bear ours :)

we had fire ants on the acreage in louisiana...it was war...and in mexico, the leaf-cutter ants were fun to watch for an hour or two, but the next day the tree was naked...cute little buggers

Thank You, desert dreamer :) They do indeed and I think they are quite worthy of love, dear souls :)

A great tribute to those little ants that keep the ground clean for us. They are living beings like us and deserve to live.
