Falling

Falling

A Poem by Dano

The walk sign has come and gone

I feel like I have lost something

A memory just out of reach

Where was I trying to get

The crisp falling snow collects around me

The train click clacks past

A woman in white

The woman, was she waiting for me

My hands numb from the northern chill

This memory blurring back into focus

She seems to be smiling

My heart races as my body tenses

She waves

Is it hello or goodbye

The memory comes into sharp focus

The familiar click clacks getting louder

My face warms

The tears fall melting away the chill
