Love and War

Love and War

A Poem by Lexi Nicole
"

Well, his heart's bleeding on the floor.

"

They say all’s fair in love and war
Well, his heart’s bleeding on the floor
And her tears form a map along her cheeks
Down to her lips, and she can’t speak
She’s sewn up her lips so her voice won’t betray
All the secrets she’s hidden away
And she hides the knife back in the drawer
And hides his heart under the boards of the floor
She leaves that old dark house behind
With only one thing on her mind
They say all’s fair in love and war.

Wow! This starts out seemingly sad, maybe a breakup that hurt two people, but it gradually grows more chilling. Great write!

You've just molded a well-known quote into a morbid tale. Writers like you amaze me just because you create something original from a worn out idea. Nice try. Unique poem, short but intense.

Keep Writing. ^___^

This is dark and rather fascinating.
This could almost be a song.
It has just a great rhythm.
Really an amazing piece.

Ah, I'm a fan of Poe.
Morbidity is acceptable if it results in good art, poetry, photography, etc.
This definitely is excellent!
