A Poem by child of God

Crowded halls
Unknow faces
I find that I ran
From my troubles
I went to something new
Something That is different
Something that is a little terrifying

New is beautiful
New is nerve racking
New takes adjustment
New takes a first step

I ran from my father
I ran from my abuse
I ran from luther

I went somewhere new
Somewhere bigger
But it is somewhere safe

New school
New halls
New faces
Every thing is new

I have to break free from
My shell I have to open up
I have to make new friends
Here I go new takes adjustment

I read between the lines here BG and I got that 'New' is a wonderful distraction from lots of other things that are going on. 'New' is a mechanism for dealing with (or not), traumatic things. If the mind is overwhelmed by all the 'New'-ness then it won't have time to examine or to dwell on such traumas.
This is a glimpse into the way the mind of a person who has been subject to abuse, works.
Thank you for showing such bravery - :))

- did you mean 'luther' or maybe 'Lucifer' in 3rd Stanza?

I ment Luther it is a town in Oklahoma and wow you got what I ment right on the dot
I know how it's let. I just moved this semester and I barely know anyone. It's really hard, but I know you'll pull through.

Yes, anything new there is definitely an adjustment period! I had to go through
this several times as a youngster and it can be tough, but depending how you
look at it can also be existing! Thanks for sharing and b-blessed!
