Please Catch It

Please Catch It

4am

up in bed

another nightmare.

outside, dark pervades

inside, trouble cascades.

what are you trying to say

it’s not our first time

you hide by day

but prey on my nights

i’m not special and that makes us two

it’s what all the fears do

wait for the light to go

to not face their own soul.

too bad you clearly got caught

don’t you cry ‘cause i won’t mop

you had a good run

sucks sleep had to ruin all the fun.

A interesting poem. I liked the dreamcatcher. I have many. Those dreams, when angry, loco and dangerous mean we are keeping the bad things from life with us into our sleep. I meditate to clear mind and I find peaceful sleep. Sometime the demons do chase me. Mainly war. Hello dear friend and thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

maybe life is more interesting in nightmares...even if they can be scary.

no monsters under this bed...they are in sleep...
Oh life is more interesting in your poems than it is in my reality.

a night Mayer or just awakening from reality

Unlike most nightmare poems where the dream is a horrible place to be, I get the feeling this narrator kinda likes it there in the freaky dream zone. The tone is flippant, like there's no mercy for those who are afraid of all the things that go "bump" in the night . . . this lack of mercy is exemplified by your superb line: "don’t you cry ‘cause i won’t mop" . . . if you frolic in the darkness, expect to be spooked!
