Petrified Trees

Petrified Trees

A Poem by i'mHiding

Tonight i let you take me,
I was drunk, but you didn't waste me,
In the dark, and petrified trees,
The winter blanket,
cloaked all of our secret obscenities,
You undressed me, feel my heart beat,
I've wanted this forever,
And the moment is so sweet,
Are you sure you love me?
Positive you care,
a promise to a drunken idiot,
would definitely be a dare,
You feel the heat of the moment,
The shivers i have felt before,
It hurts the smallest,
but the snow will come and cool this sore,
We did this wrong,
but it feels so right,
But perhaps its just the alcohol,
holding me captive tonight,
Will you pay the ransom?
Lay here for a while,
pay it as a reminder & please,
protect me from the world and it's judgement of us,
Take my heart, beneath these petrified trees.

I really enjoyed this. It kept me engaged through the whole piece and I love the imagery of snow and petrified trees. The "didn't waste me" line was really nice, just like the previous reviewer said. Lovely work.

I love this. It sounds really raw, and honest. I especially love the lines

"I was drunk, but you didn't waste me,
In the dark, and petrified trees,
The winter blanket,
cloaked all of our secret obscenities.."

It flows really well. A beautiful poem, great work!!
