Waiting for thunder.

Waiting for thunder.

A Poem by i.am.the.sun.
"

Pretty sure I had "Daughter" by Pearl Jam stuck in my head while writing this. Especially the first stanza.

"
She was uninvited, unexpected,
A single lightening strike on a seven year blacked out night.
Echoes of her silhouette still burn my eyes, and
though I try I can't forget I witnessed her last light.

Standing now I'm truly blind,
a fading torch inside my mind
the only thing to guide my way
and yet the single thing it shows is still her fading face.

She is a compass rose without a map,
and I, a captain with no course.

Author's Note

i.am.the.sun.
This began as just trying to get something down on paper when I had a ton of ideas backlogged. I completely waste "She is a compass rose without a map, and I, a captain with no course" here, so I expect I'll recycle that and this piece will just become a stepping stone. C'est la vie.
