Ants.

Ants.

A Poem by i.am.the.sun.

do ants know they're so small?
do they know of their tremendous strength?
do they see us as large examples
of their cavernistic way of life?
we do, after all,
life in a people farm.

do they realize how small they really are?
do they know that their strongest member
can be stilled by our simply over exaggerated imitation
of their gentle steps?
their steps, so light that not a soul stirs
with them the cause.

are they impressed by their economy,
or does it just come as naturally to them as we think?
are they afraid of rain water finding its way into their cities
and destroying their subterranean empire?

do they know that such a simple thing
as a heavy April shower,
something they can never hope to control
can wipe them off their giant world?
i wonder all these things,
but i wonder also-
do we know the same ourselves?
