Plain Truth

Plain Truth

A Poem by Jacques - iNkwire
"

Started out as "plain" truth, but quickly became a little mushier than anticipated...

"
I still have my eye on you
and still have my nerves
I still want to ask about you
somewhere outside of work

It's plain truth
that I've done more than my usual,
but with that said
in ways I'm still scared of you

I'm just so damn nervous 'round you
and I'm definitely not impervious
to the charm you exude
which to me seems effortless

How could someone look
so strong yet so soft?
Why does thinking of your face
keep my smile aloft?

Your vibe is like a
cool breeze on a hot day
and your eyes are stars
that show me the way

The way to what, I do not know
I'm just sure it's a place I want to go
I won't apologize for such a cliche
as being around you makes me feel so many ways

It's just such a challenge
to describe what this is
Like this isn't a thing,
but somehow there's a twist

I feel like peace
is a part of your soul
I can't imagine anyone fighting you
or anyone acting cold

You're probably not an angel
despite how I feel
What I mean to say is
if there were flaming wheels

Covered in eyes like yours
I'd be not afraid
I would only ask:
"Yes, which way

do you want me to go?"
'cause I'd definitely heed
As time with you's what I want
even if it's not something I need

About
Hi. Most of my work is poetry, but I intend to put some stories out in the future. I write about what makes me feel strongly. This approach mostly results in romantic pieces, but I hope to branch o.. more..
