Flowers

This was written before I sent someone flowers.

Can I buy you flowers?
Or get you something nice?
It doesn't have to be a ring
or gold covered in ice
I just want to make you smile
even if it's not my job
If someone's in your picture
I hope they're not a slob
Maybe I could give you sweets?
Ones that look like art?
Would it be corny if I
made something shaped like a heart?
I could write you something
but how do I give you words?
Do I fold it on a paper
and tie it to a bird?
Suppose I could pretend here
that I had the gall
to say these in your ear
and not be scared at all
