Her eyes are blue pools
of unfocused ice.
They have seen too much darkness
and felt too much pain.
Wavy hair the color of wheat
hangs in an unkempt field; she is a mess
of contradictions and a muddle
of mistakes.
Small hands, twist errant
straw-like strands in perpetual motion.
Her light-starved mind silently screams
in primal hues.
All color has been bled
from a life that is taking much too long.
There is no melody around her,
only static fills the air.
Alone she waits for the storms
to pass and the sun to break.
She dreams of warmth to melt
the wax that encases her heart.
How she longs to lick the tallow from her
fingers and feel the beat of something more.
So she waits to find the rhythm of the dance
she once knew before the rain.
she is a mess
of contradictions and a muddle
of mistakes.
Alone she waits for the storms
to pass and the sun to break.
She dreams of warmth to melt
the wax that encases her heart.
But it also lets me see just how far I have come...I have found the rhythm of the dance.
Thank you for sharing this very thought provoking piece.

You have a very beautiful way of writing. Your flow and your imagery are perfect. they move and blend into one another without ever catching on themselves. This is a gorgeous piece, guaranteed to bring us all back to a place of sorrow that unfolds into the hope for a better tomorrow.
Thanks for the great write!

Have I told you how much I like this? I thought I surely had! Love your imagery and your well placed breaks....as you know, those are important to me ;)
Blue pools of unfocused ice? She is a mess? Small hands, twisting errant....man, I love these lines!
This is really one of your best pieces.

To be as one with the frozen surroundings, and become a frozen soul, is captivating, and that is what you discribe here so very well... to merge one self into a moment, or a ambience is master. I think you just did that. What a good poem and hypnotizing in certain ways... I loved reading this.

You're most welcome, I so enjoy reading your work. :)
We had a wicked storm here last night and I lost my connection, this is the first poem I have read this morning....I don't see it getting much better than this. I was captivated from 'blue pools of unfocused ice' holy! This twists around my psyche, and wraps around my heart. It's that feeling of falling three stories and never landing...the emotion is palpable in this read, just stunning blue. I love the last line, that in itself says volumes. WOW!

Pleasure is all mine, such a refined piece of poetry this blue.
I find this piece hypnotising - almost the same as the frozen state of mind of the subject of the piece. The word choice is exempliary. The sparseness of the language matches the bleakness and patience, but in the waiting, there is also a belief that the good times will come again. This is excellent poetry. P.

Love the captivating words play in this emotional packed piece. and the 2 last line maginified the sense re-creating our self and picking the broken pieces and build our life once again.

What is broken can often be repaired- all we need is hope. Thanks so much for commenting Marc.
Some of your phrasings are distinctively unusual, and very clever, her yearnings her fondess for movement is are also markedly apparent, I enjoyed the read

I do not accept any new friend requests unless we have read and commented on each others poetry. No exceptions. I have enough homework as it is. I expect reciprocity in our exchanges. Read my work and.. more..
