Bad Day At Black Rock

Bad Day At Black Rock

A Poem by icelandicblue
"

One of my favorite films...thanks Doc for the reminder about westerns.

"
Bad Day at Black Rock is a movie you see
it's one of my favorites, it's tough and gritty,
In search of a man this one handed stranger
came to a town and found himself danger.

Looking for Komoko, and Adobe Flats
gets off the train and finds himself that-
there's a secret that buried deep in the ground
and no one in town wants him around.

It's filled with a cast in a story so fine
starring the greats Tracy, Marvin, Borgnine,
It's a bit of a western and a lot of film noir
the lead is my favorite old-time movie star.

So if you have time that you're looking to fill
I suggest Bad Day at Black Rock, it's written to thrill,
so get out the popcorn, your worn cowboy boots
It's a fabulous movie no one can dispute.

I have never seen this one, Blue. I always watch The outlaw Josie Wales, The Good the Bad and the Ugly and Jeremiah Johnson when they come on cable. It has nothing to do with Clint Eastwood (damn!) and Robert Redford (groan!) starring in them. Just sayin'. This makes me want to be on the lookout for this flick! Angi~

PS: I want the second line to have an 's' after favorite. Could be just me, though.

Hi Einstein! Thanks!
I've never seen it but I think that reviews should now be penned this way - it would be very entertaining to read them!

I never thought of it that way...imagine what we could do with a movie we didn't like. ; )

absolutely!
Westerns seem to have gone out of style these days, but the books by McMurty were some of my all time favorites. Thanks for introducing us to one of your favorite western films, Anne, in a very poetically appealing way.

It's an old one for sure. Thanks Rita.
The rhythm and rhyme in this one is charismatic. I have seen "Bad Day at Black Rock"...what an entertaining movie with an impressive cast. You have summed up the plot so well here. Very enjoyable...you did the movie justice! Lydi**
