The Shadow Children

The Shadow Children

A Poem by IgniteToWrite
"

Do you know whats really going on?

"
These are the lost,
These are the weak,
These are the broken,
The ones that can't speak,

They are the silenced,
A word in a million,
Young and frightened,
Shadow Children,

From hiding in basements,
To working the grasses,
Poor innocent faces,
Burning to ashes,

Forbidden to dream,
So parched they can't cry,
Do you hear them cry,
Their dying inside!

Yes they've bled,
Yes they've been whipped,
Soon they'll be dead,
And thrown in the crypt,

Tattoed with gashes,
Shaking in shock,
As their life flashes,
Till; it comes to a halt,

The ground is breaking,
Hearts beat-beating,
Bodies aching,
The pain is waking,

Why do you ignore them,
They're crying for help,
They've been condemned,
Forbidden to yelp,

THEY SCREAM!

Hidden behind masks,
Vage identities,
Where are they you ask,
Picking cotton and beans,

If we don't help now,
Things are bound to get worst,
So take the vow,
And be the first.

This was beautiful and chilling. Not a poem I would expect to come out of someone so young. You clearly have a wide understanding of the suffering going on for these children all around the world. You are very talented and I can't wait to see what else you come up with.

I did notice a few spelling errors, but I wasn't sure if they mattered to you. Some writers on here worry less about spelling and grammar, and more about content. If you want help editing, I would be happy to help, but either way, keep up your amazing work.
