big talk

big talk

A Poem by Christine

I have

little interest

in the things

people say

to

each other

where is

the wonder

in life's

leisurely

laps

around

tracks

that go

no where?

there are things

I want to know

about some people

for others,

I can

only

maintain

the small talk

the senseless exchanges

the robotic responses

to the same questions

someone

someday

will come

along

and he'll talk

the big talk

everything

he says

will be

remembered

it will

caress

your

intellect

it will

enchant

your soul

it will

whisper

wisdom's

wonder

it will cry

whimsical

wishes

it will laugh

at the other people

who will never understand

the big talk
