on following the moon on long rides home (where ever that may find you)

on following the moon on long rides home (where ever that may find you)

A Poem by Christine

it goes

wherever

you go;

STALKER

comes to mind;

they

always

told

you

to

lead,

never follow.

they

(whoever they may be)

forgot

to exclude

the moon

in their

delicate

equation.

it's only trying

to abide by

the same laws

you choose

to follow;

it ran

the same

red lights

you did

it followed you

through intersections

and cross walks

and potholes

and road kill

and

it stopped.

you floored it.

you tried

to out run

its orbit

and when

you popped

a tire

outside

a hotel

you had to stare at it.

you thought

of home

where ever

that may be

(you never felt so far away)
