A Poem by Christine

We took his shoe laces
We do it for all of them

You can never
be too sure
who they may try
to strangle

these unpredictable savages
with their twisted thoughts
about getting high
who tell police officers
to f**k off
who then go silent

mute.

the only noise
he makes
is from strumming
the guitar
we have
on the ward

we allow him
to keep the strings
(music never hurt anyone)

we don't know
about the
silent
sad
songs
he sings

put them all on lithium
call them bi polar
watch the savages behave
when they're playing
the guitar
