Virginity

Virginity

A Poem by Christine
"

This is a series of haikus, although some stanzas break the syllable count. oh well

"

Secrets can’t be kept

When they’re always remembered

I’m sorry I told

The very first time

Probably did not matter

To someone involved

Intoxication

Blurred thought processing

Bliss followed me home

Nearly a year passed

Before we saw each other

In a different light

Remember this summer?

Most nerves were settled

Thanks to Jim and Jack

Fragments of anxiety

I could not know you

Although I’d known you

Differently.

On this winter night

A blizzard coats my windows

I think of your stare

Your eyes don’t meet mine

They wander through space and time

Your goodbye was different

I’m sorry I told

I had to know it was real

So I repeat it

It’s never aloud

Maybe you would understand

‘Cause we were alone

You were the only other person there.

Ashley: Very insightful given only the context of the poem

I like how she's trying to get him to understand what happened from her side of the story.
