Stages of Grief senryu

Stages of Grief senryu

A Poem by inconsistentsea
"

This is a group of senryu poems, each representing one of the extended stages of grief.

"

I - shock

Hands blocks my face

as my mouth hangs open.

I cannot breathe anymore.

II - denial

I must have misread something?

I said something wrong?

Is this happening?

III - anger

Unbelievable.

I should have known.

You two deserve each other.

IV - bargaining

Am I not worthy?

Am I not better?

Am I anything to you?

V - depression

An unsatisfying ending.

Immutable.

Just like a bad book.

VI - testing

Perhaps if I just...

Maybe if I were more...

It is time to move on.

VII - acceptance

I can now look at

beauty in all its forms

and not be torn apart.

a very clear look at relationships and how we deal with them and are affected by them, I especially liked the end where you are able to see the beauty of the whole thing, the good and bad and the possibilities.

These are all very good, as they portray the satages of grief about anything that happens.

These are more the stages of grief throughout a failed relationship, aptly written, the death/dying of love are no less grief stricken than death of a loved one.
