Just let the pointless make their pointless points and stop pretending that it matters. Only then will you see what matters.

We are moving at breakneck speed, and it's not like we are being productive. Thank you for the visit and sharing your thoughts. Cheers, Mary

You know, I spent two or three years with that as my major theme. The effects of speed. The most important effect is what it has done to our brains... We have ALL gone crazy, But not to worry, we are all at the same depth of whatever disorder this is, so nobody notices. Just think throughout the entire history of mankind since we came down out of the trees, we WALKED wherever we went, there were virtually NO distractions from wnhat needed to be done. We woke with the sun and slept with the moon. In absolute silence unless you lived near some arena. A farmer out in the country heard nothing but natural sounds... It would be impossible for us to live that way because we're nuts and cannot function without sensory overload.

I have a place up north really off the beaten path; when I arrive for the first few days, I can’t sleep. The quiet is deafening. The opposite when I return home. Sad how we’ve allowed this madness to overtake our lives.

Hmmm, Up north... You know how different that image is for someone in Detroit compared to someone in Jackson, Mississippi? Upper Peninsula, or Damn Yankees...
When I lived in the Sequatchie Valley, down a back toad, turn right two miles down a dirt road and on to The Tollett Cemetary I had no TV for five years. It was thebest time of my life...

The town is a hub for hikers, campers, divers and photographers, but I’m far removed from that. It's so quiet, I call it God’s country. Now addicted to screens our fingers tap and eyes strain to see anything moving. I remember before cells before computer screens and yes before we had a TV. or phone Oh how peaceful live was just the radio and my folks remembered when they got their first radio.

We lived abroad a lot and I remember listening to the radio with my family. Some of these programs were a bit like a soap opera. Other times mom and dad read aloud to us. I was out to dinner a few weeks ago and the table next to me looked like a family. Everyone scrolled on their phones, not much personal interaction. Always enjoy your visits and your thoughts. Thank you, Mary
