Seasons

Seasons

A Poem by Devesh

The vast canvas of fate stretches

far and wide; the brushes lie in wait

& silently their time bide, as the strokes

of the brush draw a new season,

they paint your life with many a new reason.

As the flowers of the spring beneath

the heart bloom and wash away the pain

and the gloom; the summer sun shines

and drives away the dark, resplendent

in the light you the joyous song hark.

Once in a while the colour of life

turns a little dark; like the

autumn leaves, the shade of a lark.

The white windy winter, the snow

covered pine; lays bare the canvas

& washes over the colour from thine.

The beginning of the end or the end

of the beginning? In a distance you see

a bright light shimmering;death embraces you

begins a new beginning; like star crossed

lovers life and death and life.

This is a gem. I love the layering of life and art - "vast canvas of fate," " strokes of the brush draw a new season," "wash away the pain and the gloom," and "the colour of life turns a little dark." Metaphors are my absolute favourite.

Great work!
