I Wrote This for a Flower

I wrote this for my Azalea, "Twiggy." I might be projecting, so that could be why it seems like it's for a human.

Your beauty introduced us,
But it's not why I care
I care because we can grow together
and I love knowing you're there

However long you're here,
you've brought color to my life
Things will change when you're not near,
but I will be alright

They say you can only bloom twice,
but that changes nothing
Any number of blooms from you is nice
and when I say that, I'm not bluffing

Maybe you won't stay long as I hope
Perhaps you'll have to leave
It still does my heart good to know
that you've spent time with me

A goodbye's on some far horizon,
but you're next to me now
That's all it takes to get me surmising
that I should make every day count

Very nicely rhymed and philosophical. If you really are this involved with a flower, maybe you should become a florist. Then again, maybe not. You probably couldn't bear parting with any of them and would have to declare bankruptcy.
