Hope and Tragedy

Hope and Tragedy

A Poem by iofthemourning
"

This is a song that was co-written with Mavis Bard. I wrote the initial lyrics and altered it to make it flow better. I then changed the chorus so it didn't sound like Hoobastank. It was the first song we wrote together.

"

Embrace my kiss
Dry your eyes
don’t be afraid

Of another goodbye
Dream with me
Of a love so chaste
Of beauty so pure
Of a saving grace

I found you alone
With a broken heart
I bid you my love
To heal and impart
Remove those fears
Unveil your soul
A fool's disguise
Conceals a heart of gold

Summer dies and its all the same

We’ll lose ourselves in that same old game

Clean the slate, to erase your pain

Fall comes now, I guess we all must change

No words to say
No songs to sing
Only painful cries
With tears to bring
Your eyes behold
The mess you made
But it's over now
And it'll be okay

Summer dies and its all the same

We’ll lose ourselves in that same old game

Clean the slate, to erase your pain

Fall comes now; I guess we all must change

And promise me you’ll always believe

In songs of hope and tragedy

Through you I could hear the heavens cry

I wanted you to know I just came to say goodbye
