Q'Oyllui Ritti in the Midwest

A Poem by (no es) maria

Written during a snow storm last December. Q'Oyllui Ritti is the Peruvian God of the Snow Mountain. There's a very good documentary about him too: http://www.livevideo.com/video/YoungCuts/E42D04B18BB04F2385E55CECEB6CAD53/q-oyllui-ritti-the-god-of-sn

The snow gods and goddesses, they love love love love
looooooooove
me

they said one inch isn't enough,
let's encase her with all of
our
beautiful
thick
heavy
wet
feathers

from ice and not so steamy steam
let's drown her

i was standing underneath the awnings in front of a bookstore
watching
the
big tufts from the clouds above, now
9 hours later
my feet are still
wet

snow fairies, oh you sweet little

fuckers....

thank you for straining my obliques and flexors
and thank you for sticking to my lashes and stinging my eyes
 really, you shouldn't have...
a greeting card would have been just as sweet

to think
just last night
and in the middle of the sidewalk
with four strangers staring
their mouths gaping open
in surprise
i was twirling with my arms out
in all of this
lovely
lovely
lovely

heavy
heavy
Q'Oyllui Ritti's dandruff
