A Poem by (no es) maria
"

we were gonna finna shoulda....

"

oh i am sorry,

excuse us, we weren't thinking.

we were looking for the red plaque,

not the white stuff on your fangs

we were looking for the snow leopards in artfolk,

but found some lazy yaks instead.

we were cleaning up the cat piss on your porch

and singing about your family roots

we were looking for the autumn in you

too soon, you replied,

it's still summer.

we were skipping down the june air

when he brushed the black ants from my feet.

we were laughing,  jinxing lockjaw

when he asked for wax burn down his spine

we were talking about siblings we've disowned

and who should have been our first wife.

we were planning for jumps in the river,

but discussed failed suicide attempts instead.

we were going to go out to dinner,

we were going to take another  trip,

we were going to develop our inner Lenins and Orishas

we were going to break into hidden badger setts

excuse us , we meant to...

we really truly meant to

we were going to move on towards living

but we decided to stay in Wisconsin instead.
