Pity the Opressed

Pity the Opressed

A Poem by Isa Ruffatti
"

This is something that popped into my mind. I'll probably use it in a dystopian novel I have always yearned to write.

"
They had eyes
Yet they never saw
They had a mouth
Yet they never spoke
They are dead
Lost from the beginning
Not human
Nor beast
Something far more terrible
Machines
Pieces of machinery crafted by the best
Blind machines
Mute machines
Dead machines
Lost machines
Once very human indeed
Do not condemn these sorrowful creatures
Pity them
Pity the opressed

Yeahh.... I know... kinda somber. But dystopias are always very eerie worlds, very dark and controlling. I think that the ability to think for oneself is a key part in what makes us human.

Excellent writing and I agree a bit eerie. But the concept can be that way when reading.
Really enjoyed this.
