Black Blanket

Black Blanket

A Poem by LangstonOctober

A black blanket falls from the sky
and covers her world.
It consumes all illumination
and suffocates her hope
ushering the unwelcome company of misery to settle in her chest.
Her heart beats the sound of pounding metal,
making her uneasy and fragile.
Deep in the dark cave of despair, she cries
until suddenly
a spark.

I see a lot of potential in this piece. Though its very short, it says a lot about what kind of writer you are. I like the ending. It leaves the reader wondering and hoping for more.

I feel like you can make it a bit longer, or rather I wish it were long because I really like this piece. Continue using this kind of language in your work that has yet to come and I'll be more than glad to review because this was a pleasure to read.

I look forward to reading more. (Great title btw)
