I have a Soul Mate

I have a Soul Mate

A Poem by Anita B Jacques
"

Dedicated to my late Husband the love of my life, my Soul Mate.

"

I have a Soul Mate.
My Mate's imprint deep in my Soul.
So few, the years he was given.
We wanted to grow old together.
Our plans and dreams faded away.

On this earth, he his no more.

His face sealed in my mind,
more familiar then my own.
His space not empty,
But  full with wonderful memories.
When my Soul is longing for his mate.
I'll wrap my arms around me.

I close my eyes and see.
Deep blue eyes smiling at me.
Funny faces, only he could make.
How proud he looked
When he learned and play my favorite songs.
He had a gift for telling jokes
We would laugh so hard together.

I hum the song of our first dance.
"My one and only you".
He couldn't be any closer to me.
God and I knew well
the sadness in his heart from day's past,
Hidden behind a clown's mask.
His long struggles with illnesses
The high measure of his inner strength.

The physical part of him is gone.
His Soul live's forever.
He won his fight against pain.
When finally told, he could let go.
The weight of his pain,
by the Grace of God,
Was lifted off my shoulders.

He is at peace.
His spirit is not far, only "Time".
The physical love is gone.
Our Souls in love Forever.

Oh Anita! This is a lovely tribute to your late husband! How lucky you are to have a love so beautiful...
A love so wonderfully warm and true that can keep your heart warm with happy memories....
A loving dedication that is just simply well written and truly from the center of your heart...
Soulmates... for life and eternity... it is wonderful to know that it does truly exist. :)

Wow this was beatiful dedication to your husband. As you know I lost my wife that is why you probably wanted to share this poem with me. I loved it and I hust and cheer for your pain and love that you push forward. I have as well. I did not write for 5 of the 6 and half years of our marraige. My wife made her transition in the morning I picked up a pen that night and I haven't put it down since. 103 poems thus far since May 23, 2007. Thanks for sharing and bringing a smile to my face about my wife. If you read "I Hear You Baby" that is the picture of us. Our last photo together.

Truly a brilliant poem from a increddible and inspiring poet that touches one's very soul!
We all have lost someone close to our heats in our life time!
The greatest honor we can bestow upon their memeries is to live a life of greatness, one in which we can help all of humanity!
Keep writing from your soul for the good of all souls and humanity!
You're a brillant writer and this was a great write!
Always,
TIM
