Know That I Too
We are never alone (a poem for mental health month)
Please let me breathe without the pain

Please let me breathe without the pain

A Poem by Jack...
"

Sadness felt at the missing of someone very dear to the heart

"

Please let me breathe without the pain

The clouds this day so low they fall

Upon my shoulders heavily

Though rain it need not start to flow

As tears drops rain inside of me

The pain of never knowing why

With answers hiding in the mist

As sadness bears its lonely frown

In moments on a day like this

Of crowded places all alone

I stand but of a weakened way

With words which I have always known

And can not find the strength to say

This sorrow clings my every thought

Now as a shrouded woolen wrap

Though warmth it does not lend aloft

Much more of this, its endless trap

The sun they say again will rise

Though at this time I can not see

My happiness has gone away

The sunlight but a memory

Oh take this pain and cast it far

So I’ll not feel it once again

And place it on the farthest star

So far away I beg thee send

As something of my life is gone

To never fill my lonely heart

I’ve never felt so all alone

My world has slowly come apart

So much the world does bring my way

Oh how I am supposed to feel

When sadness seems the only way

And oh its grasp is very real

Yet I must look about this place

To honor those which I have lost

And force a smile upon my face

Regardless of this heavy cost

For I am merely but one soul

As time does pass I only cry

Of things I now can not control

And minutes that are passing by

Yet this is life despite my fear

The pain seems long and evermore

If only I could disappear

Till happiness arrives once more

When pain becomes a memory

So I can think of better days

As once again the sun I see

To feel the warmth within its rays

For now this loss shall quell my dreams

To offer nothing more or less

As still I plead on bended knee

For this, my only true request

Please let me breathe without the pain

As time does pass so ever free

And tell me I shall see again

My friend to stand in front of me

Thank you so very much my friend.
This is incredibly moving Jack. I thought it related to a death but by Noodles review I see it's someone that has left the cafe. I hope whoever it is comes back, you're pain is quite evident. Great writing and dedication.

Hard to learn the words above. But we must. I could feel the sadness and the learning in the poem. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Thank you so very much my friend for your visit and kind words today.
So moving...
Once I have uttered such words of despair. But life must go on...

This is sad but beautiful, Jack. How I wish it's only fictional.

Thanks so much Dhaye. At the time I wrote it it was not fictional. But time does heal they say.

Yes, time does heal. You're welcome.
Absolutely beautiful. That last stanza took my breath away... You have such amazing images and emotions intertwined with your words. I can sadly, recently, relate to what this says... Beautiful poem.

Thank you so very much my friend.
Breathing without the pain would be exquisite for certain, as is your poetry. You know I live within these constraints and this affected me to the core. Can't say more...

Understood. Thank you my friend.
This poem is truly beautiful, sadness many will relate to; So do I.
Please let me breathe without the pain As time does pass so ever free And tell me I shall see again My friend to stand in front of me

Such an emotional ending, filled with sorrow and desire to see that lost friend again. Losing someone leaves a pain that doesn't let you breath without feeling the agony the lost brought. As if you penned my feelings. Wonderful!

Congrats on the win!

You expressed your pain, and your faith, very well.
I, too, know what it means to lose someone I love, and I know how the pain of that loss is so unbearable...and there is nothing at all i can do to lessen it, because that person is gone from this earth. I will not see them again in this life. I can only hope that we will see each other again one day in God's Paradise...

How that pain still squeezes the heart out of me, till it seems that I cannot breathe.
Thank you for expressing it so well.

And once again, Congrats!!
