The Void

The Void

A Poem by Jack...
"

Nothing is everyting that it seems

"

The Void

Darkness finds my world this day

Sorrow forms the tear

Loneliness of empty dreams

As all light disappears

Craggy cliffs of memories

Drenched of pains bequeathed

Above me lies the shadowed ridge

Of long forgot belief

Silence rings its anguished bell

A resonating lull

Thoughts of sadness fill my mind

Of which I can’t control

Hollow as all time relates

Exhaustion now deployed

As my life does once again

Collapse within the void

And like a shadow calling

With fingered waving pose

I realize that this loneliness

Is full in my control

For as I stare off wearily

Abandoned on the shelf

I find it’s just a frame of mind

I’ve placed upon myself

For if indeed this is a void

Then nothing would exist

Days would go uncounted

Even after all is missed

When now in my illusions

A’ wander on this trail

The void is my solution

I’m certain not to fail

When if this sorrowed feeling

The torment and the pain

Is tossed into the dark abyss

Then nothing shall remain

And I shall breathe a sorted

Sigh of disbelief

To learn that in this nothingness

I find my true relief

So take this of my being

This sadness now deployed

To disappear before my eyes

Into the darkened void

It's hard to read such painful words, specially coming from you Jack, but you still manage to write it in such an exquisite and breathtaking way that I can't help myself from reading.
"When if this sorrowed feeling
The torment and the pain
Is tossed into the dark abyss
Then nothing shall remain."
Truly, the worst feeling of all, is having no feeling at all.
Wonderfully penned, dear friend.

Those voids are like black holes they suck all the light away. You have done a masterful job of the sensory deprivation that occurs when we stand in the bottom of the void.

Well that was a twist I wasn't expecting. I was expecting more sorrow, but this is a tale of rising above the circumstance. I like that twist, my friend! Well done.

Jack,

If you can find a word to replace "does" in this inspiring poem, I believe it would make it superb.

I will look into that. thanks.
I like the inspiration of taking responsability for our state of mind and state of emotion. Ultimatly we are able to rise above our circumstance, to opt out of our anguish. I like the word choices. Rolls off the tongue easily.
