Greener Pastures

By Jack Ivey

What if life

Was filled with greener pastures

And their fragrance

Came rolling down like summer breeze

Would you smile

And lie right here beside me

Hold me close

Make true my wildest dreams

In these fields

Of vibrant greener pastures

Close your eyes

And hear the trees upon the hill

Sunny skies

And everything that matters

Here I lie with you

And I always will

Who doesn't want to lie down in greener pastures, I want to settle right into this piece, right her, right now. Lovely, kind of lulls you to peace.

Lovely, Jack. Perfect lazy-day images, that make you want to forsake the stresses of the day and stretch out to remember the important things of life.

The world is saved...she has returned successfully. Thanks so much Michelle.
Ah, I think I needed this imagery- I can feel the sun on me and feel the grass beneath me. A picture you paint that is ever so beautiful and content- a dream I think we all wish- that life was a little more beautiful sometimes.

Your wonderful comments make my world more beautiful. Thank you.
We need to be reminded that we can always go to these places in our minds and we can remain in the blissful rest we know there as well.
A very calm reassurance in this write. Well done Jack!

Thank you sir, I appreciate it.
Hens lay eggs. People lie...in both senses of the word...
But a very good poem all the same....

Thank you so much.
i was there, lying on my back next to the girl of my dreams, under a huge swaying oak tree...listening to the wind in the leaves and looking upward into beautiful brown eyes and silken black hair, silhouetted by the perfect azure sky. this is a wonderful painting done with just the right pastels and all the right words, beautiful Jack!
