While standing in the sun

While standing in the sun

A Poem by Jack...
"

Summer is almost here

"

While standing in the sun

by jack

I take the sun in summer skies

in waves of warmth so free

Beginning with the morning rise

until the end I see

For I shall bask in lonely dreams

so bright that they have come

To find the reason that it means

to stand out in the sun

For of theses day my skin does turn

a glowing color red

If wind breaks soft, yet I shall learn

these thoughts inside my head

To catch a glimpse of golden shine

I call for what is new

As moments fight with borrowed time

then cast these feelings true

For I shall wait alone this day

within the grasses tall

Along a breeze, they tend to sway

in spite of what is all

And count the season's tender beams

each hour one by one

And lose myself within my dreams

while standing in the sun

Warmth of spirit flows through my veins; light so bright I must shade them from this brilliance. I have said it before and will say it here again, you have this incredible ability to see the sublime in the simple, and that is a rare and splendid quality I admire.
Such a profound thing to see so much beauty in the things we can easily take for granted.

Thank you sir
Sunny thoughts for these warming days. There's nothing better to clear one's mind and gather peace from the surroundings like a beautiful day spent outside. Nature grounds me and this poem did as well.
Lovely writing.

Thank you so much Dear Sera.
Summer's gentle breezes, basking in the sunlight, that's the feel I get whilst reading this Jack, it's light & airy, and beautifully written. Maybe we could sprinkle a bit of your sun's rays on this place...it could certainly use it.

If I could, I would send some to you Frieda. Thank you so much
"For I shall bask in lonely dreams"--beautiful. I love the imagery in this one. There is a sublime and yet very introspective feel to this one. Well done!
