Butterfly at play

Butterfly at play

A Poem by Jack...
"

Beauty on a spring day

"

Butterfly at play

On air a butterfly floats with ease

Its beauty found on springtime breeze

Reflections of a sunny day

Upon its wings the light does play

A magic iridescent glow

Reflecting on the ground below

In search of nectar bearing blooms

In flight of garden scent perfumes

Blues and greens of glistened light

Bring this wondrous springtime sight

As if it has but not a care

The precious scene we all can share

Delicate its wings they fly

Within the bluest daytime sky

Serenity on winged flight

The colors on this day excite

Now as this little friend does soar

Within these verses you explore

Of memories in full display

My hope is you will find this day

Your happiness is as this scene

While staring at this fragile dream

And joy shall fly into your heart

For on this day life does restart

So sit right here a little while

And share with me your precious smile

For on this special springtime day

We watch this butterfly at play

This is exquisite. Its silly but one of my favorite childhood memories was that of a monarch butterfly landing on my bare foot and licking it. I was enthralled. I think I was maybe ten at the time. A wonderful soft summery poem

You are most welcome Jack...
Fragility, beauty and grace are captured with a deft hand in your poem. Butterflies are so inspirational and they make wonderful metaphoric subjects.

Thank you so much my friend.
Not bad. You use some good imagery but I don't much like your tone - seems too matter-of-fact for the subject matter. I also don't really like how you started to address the reader in the latter half of the piece. I don't feel like that's the right way to expand on your image of rebirth and renewal.

Thanks so much my friend.
I find your verses an utter delight to my senses; I know I sound like a broken record, but you seem to have a gift for seeing the sublime in the simple beauty of life. This piece fluttered into my heart and the beauty lit me up inside.
