I have tasted sweet life

 

I have tasted sweet life,

of all that lives and breathes,

you fill my heart with summer blends,

cool and calm,

tempting as any

dream could create…

nothing else does matter

 

Days seem adrift

along lonely seas

when by my side you do not stand

As if the world,

my world, disappears

into the mist lingering as it waits

for but your sweet kiss…

to return on the coming tide to me

 

When night falls

and showers darkness,

I see a light, shimmering deep within my heart,

for this is where your love

forever shall reside,

within reach of my wanting fingertips

crying for your skin…

to rest upon my own

 

Fragrance sweet, aromatic

flavored by delicate smiles,

genuine laughter,

touches softer than is possible

upon me, over me…on me,

for my days of fear

shall never find me again…

 

I have tasted sweet life, (and it is you)

This one really engages the senses with images of love. The picture made me think of Snow White (yeah, I see that they are pears, but still...) and it was hard for me to shake that idea as I was reading - one needs only the kiss of a beloved, and the gift is sweet Life...
