Blinded Garden

Blinded Garden

A Poem by Jack...
"

Can we ever see past the flowers

"

Blinded Garden

Muddy shoes walk on helpless backs,

treachery a’ dance in the foothills of youth

Blaming only the senses of dreams,

not the evil lurking in the thistle

“Blinded by beautiful gardens discretely nurtured of poison thorns”

Chalkboards erased and rewritten,

white letters fanning flames of deceit

In handwriting we thought we knew,

only cleverly disguised as friendly

“We trust, we smile, we fall, we cry…repeat”

When dust on coat strings settles

and seams of doubt ensue

Positioned on a ledge of lies, we jump…

for changes happen over night

“Lessons learned but quickly forgotten in blooms of naïve beliefs”

Now as the pain of broken walls

crumbles, landing heavily on the gut

A swift kick releases the breath

of whom we thought to believe

“It is the caring heart that gets ripped to shreds; it is the evil heart that feels no pain”

Thank you so very much my friend.
Now this is a darned exceptonal write Jack. It is strange how we write more fluidly when insensed. Even Quin can do it and he is just an amature I have been told!

the only thing the evil heart will feel- sheer glory at the pain decisively given
we try to hold onto our teachings but it is hard
to want to trust is not an easy task to overlook
to believe a caring heart has to
these are truly beautiful words on humanity
thank you for sharing fine sir

Thank you so much Holly.
"Can we see past the flowers"? I am afraid seeing the bad and the ugly first is the norm while discovering the good, the beauty and the pure takes effort and an open heart and mind. The bad and ugly hits you over the head, but for the good and beautiful you have to dig. Great poem and most appropriate picture to go with it.

Not your typical Jack moment here, I wanted to sing 'leave those kids alone' for some reason here! Sounds awfully ominous when you can't see past the flowers, I hope you left my poppies out of this one....maybe you need more coffee my friend, good read.

ROFL.....................!
All the facades that we see, because ignorance is bliss - but if we dig up that garden, or analyze that handwriting... we will see the truth. Dark and uneasy - a good poem, though it does not bring joy...

As all poetry is...
"Now as the pain of broken walls

crumbles, landing heavily on the gut

A swift kick releases the breath

of whom we thought to believe

“It is the caring heart that gets ripped to shreds; it is the evil heart that feels no pain”"
The truth holds so much truth and the whole poem resonates in the blinded garden of humanity's evil ways that want to inflict harm and pain on others who are fragile or trying to flutter like butterflies...Well done Jack...:)
