I seek not its light

I seek not its light

A Poem by Jack...
"

dreaming in the wee hours of the morning

"

I seek not its light

I cast my eyes towards the sun,

beyond the darkened fence, the fielded midnight thoughts,

watching, through clouded images, knowing eventually

I will witness the birth of a new day

I reach with my smile in a curved line

seeking a destiny still unknown but written

in words of future phrases,

which will come to pass…on multi-colored wings of affection

I send my heart on waves of scented mist,

collected from the corners of my world,

flowing free from silent words and favored gestures

of desire’s endless intentions

I hand my love to nature, freely, willingly…

so that it may be delivered amidst

blooming jasmine and truer promises…to you,

before another dawn’s light finds your beauty and you awake

I cast my eyes towards the sun…yet I seek not its light,

nor its warmth…for all I seek is you

There are two or three writers here that I usually put off reading till I have sufficient time because their works demand a slow read and a lot of introspection. You are one of them, and of course I'm speaking in a complimentary way haha I really liked the title, which set the table perfectly for what sounds like the world and psyche of a poet to me, particularly one who's either in love, or has lost love. Great work my friend.

Always a pleasure my friend. The feeling is more than mutual.
Jack, have trouble with pc., so a quick but seriously meant word or few about your wonderful poem. From start to finish it holds sweet insight into your character and attitude to life, to emotion; particularly touched by: 'I send my heart on waves of scented mist, ~ collected from the corners of my world, ~ flowing free from silent words and favored gestures ~ of desire’s endless intentions '

You always, always write in a mind-gasping way, gentle and true, never unpleasant, spiteful or indifferent to life, nature, people. In my book, that makes you a wonderful poet but, even more importantly - a wonderful human being. Thank you for showing how ..

You use a myriad of senses in this beautiful poem Jack. The fragrance you depict wafts gently on the breeze while the reader waits for the birth of a new day.

I can absolutely see this picture that you have painted. I can close my eyes and picture the landscape, the sky, the speaker deep in contemplation of love...it's a beautiful scene. I could have coffee here... Lovely, my friend.
