Another new day...with you

Another new day...with you

A Poem by Jack...
"

These days move so quickly...

"

Another new day…with you

Pacing the foothills of reason…

collecting thoughts on garden pathways,

reaching for a butterfly

dancing neath an arbor

of outstretched arms

shaping my heart in framed happiness

For this longing builds of

sunrise wishes and coffee cup hopes

Sunflowers call out your name

in harmonic melodies on breathless breezes

of crimson and clover dotting the lawn

in candy coated

whispers…finding rainbow feathers

on porch swing awnings

Aretha Franklin sings

“Day Dreaming and I’m thinking of you” …and she is right

As hours pass, the day takes with it

the lingering effects of the sun

pale in glow next to your smile

as even clouded skies can not

diminish the sunset beauty

of your eyes

within my mind these mahogany

gems twinkle on twilight painted skies

The time now comes for sleep, to dream

of teddy bears named Clara

and satin skin touching mine,

drenched in the moon’s soft light

creating silhouettes of affection

floating on desire…

as I drift, awaiting dawns serenade

bringing another new day…with you

love the mechanics of this the offset of short lines and longer stanzas. 'Sunset beauty of your eyes" that's wonderful

Thank you so very much my sweet friend.
Jack..... your ink always finds heart upon the wings of pages flying in tomorrow's sun....I enjoy the way you speak from 'within'......I could hear the whispers of each ink drop...so beautifully written.... leading this heart to soft ~sighs~... your words linger in thoughts long after the verses have been absorbed......Bless you...:)

Thank you so very much Diana for always bringing happiness to my world.
I'm not sure if they're directly personal, but the little personal elements you've added to this piece really bring it to life, like the Aretha quote and the teddy bears named Clara. There is a story-like quality to this piece that brings me back to the Romantic era, my favourite literary period. Those folks had an inane ability to merge poetry and storytelling, and so do you. Great work as always Jack.

No words, you've touched the depths of my heart with this one, a huge sigh on the page Jack.

The time now comes for sleep, to dream

floating on desire…

Aretha carries a mean tune and that song will linger with your words long after I close the page.
