Broken Hearts and Memories

Broken Hearts and Memories

A Poem by Jade Mayhew

Broken hearts and memories,
They leave scars in your mind.
Though memories may start to fade,
And broken hearts may heal in time.

You won't forget the pain you felt,
You won't forget the hurt,
And you won't forget the feeling of
Your heart stomped in the dirt.

But you also won't forget the love,
How you thought they were "the one",
The way your world relied on them
And everything was fun.

And although memories, like albums,
They get old and they get worn,
The moments that mean most to you
Always make it through the storm.

So I stand before the ocean
And feel the comforting breeze.
And I let my mind remember
Broken hearts and memories.
