Offerings

Offerings

A Poem by Joshua Daniel

Take my broken teeth and pave your streets.

Drown your sorrows in my cascading blood.

Crush my bones back into the dust of the Earth.

Pluck forth my eyes and see that which you cannot.

House my words and speak them as your own.

Rob me of my dignity to nourish your ego.

Collect my tears and quench your insecurities.

Record each short-coming and with them sharpen your blade

Deny my sacrifices and upon a pedestal sit yours.

This morning I woke without you, yet all is still in shadow.

"Collect my tears to quench your insecurities" maybe? This line sums up a relationship of my past, maybe this poem. I like it a lot, Joshua.
