The Mumble

The Mumble

The Mumble

A newly opened leaf greats the sky

like a puppet controlled by force

gently though the blue comes to focus;

Now tainted pink puffs reach through the expanse

as though the circus maiden unraveled her cotton candy.

A sliver moon winks down as birds hush past,

And cars sing fast toward home.

Insects rumble,

The dirt crumbles,

And I mumble

just to speak-

I fumble

to write

one

word

that will glorify the Great Creator of it all.
