Flaws

I wear my heart on my sleeve
Exposed to the human weather
Surprised when someone
Stabs it
Making it bleed
As if they wanted to feel
What I feel

I opine
Too many times
As if
Those around value my musings
Still surprised
When that musings are wadded up
As unwanted paper
Thrown into the trash

I explain
Elucidate
Opening up
Giving advice
Freely
When not requested
Surprised to be ignored
As if anyone wants
To need
A woman
Who has learned lessons the
Hard way

I suggest
With enthusiasm
And mental abandon
What should be done
Ideas roll out
Without much thought
Surprised
When dismissed
By others
Who don't share my vision

My flaws
Are ever with me
As if they
Were an appendage
Sometimes causing damage
Although I mean no harm
My uber sensitivity
Frequent naivety
Keep me humble
However even if I had
The power
To overcome these failings
I would choose to embrace them still
For they are part of my essence
There since nascence
Without them I wouldn't be
Dawn
