Regret

Regret

A Poem by jane7z

Underneath
Thin skin
Burns
The-woulda-coulda-shoulda-might have-bin
Dreams swept up
Old memories
Longings
Throw aways

No do overs
Catching back
Hurtful words
miss understandings
Wrongs
Committed

Forgiveness is sweet
But consequences
And regret
Bitter wine
From which
I sup

no erasers
Or whiteout
Can fix
The hurt
Inflicted
In a moment
Of anger

You went from my sistermotherbrotherfatherfriend
To a stranger
Coldhard lessons
Are what remains
Hoping time
As the sweet cleansing rain
Washes out
My soul stain

This is really great, and I love the way you have assembled the words here, and the wordplay on might have been(bin) is just perfect in this context.
