By the OceanA Poem by jane reida short poem I wrote for my grade twelve English classI stand firm on the mountain’s brink The wind and waves bind me securely in a link I fantasize the ambience of falling, and of drowning Soon, the cerulean sky begins frowning Insidiously, I long for the wind to weaken my stance Thereupon, I can subside as the waves proceed to dance The ocean, a whisper in the air, summons me to hang on To all the hope that is not yet gone The sun against the water illuminates my day And, I realize I am home two thousand miles away © 2016 jane reid |
