Dragging On

Dragging On

A Poem by JC

The weekends are over
Before they start
And I'm just as tired by Monday.
The weeks moan and drone
And drag along without change,
A skipping record playing the
Same monotonous tune
Again and again.
I haven't the will or the courage
To jump into the fray,
Even as my spirit screams it's waning..
I search beyond the yawn
And see only more of the same
How long can I endure
Before the lonely madness
Manifests into a living insanity...
If you are out there,
Please save me from myself....

the circle of discontent tied me in knots of repetitive negative loops.
i woke to the habits of my thoughts.
Now, I try to throw poetry to disrupt the cycle.

You are in a rut. Stuck in the same old groove like a broken record. You've got to do something about it. If you wait for someone to save you, you could be waiting forever :) A sort of cry for help poem. I empathise.

I've been reading all these new poems you've shared recently. I thoroughly enjoy them. I won't leave a review on all of them, but I liked every one of them. Thank you for sharing.
