The Balance of Powers - Summary

By the year 2048 technology had transcended its previous limitations. AI were beginning to become commonplace in the inner cities and had built up a strong backing of wealthy investors. With the pressure of the investors, the government decided to convert all of the militia into AI. The rich inner cities all applauded the decision while the outcasts like my family were enraged at losing even more jobs to technology. The war began, and I grew up in the midst of it. I barely survived, but had nothing left for me at home. I left and looked for my father during the aftermath of the war.
