Water and Sand

Water and Sand

A Poem by Jay Russell
"

A journey

"
On this night, so far away from home,
From that peaceful place I chose to roam—
I know you'll be there tomorrow
A place to go, so far from pain and sorrow

There’s so much here so much that I don’t understand
About this ball of water and sand—
The road of life has so much that it brings
To the rich, the poor, the peasants, and kings

Can you take me where I am meant to be?
Where I can be free
Somewhere far past the masks
Where the hero basks
To a place with no maze
Far past bags and mental haze
Oh, to sleep within an angel’s grip
Would be a wondrous trip
I know I would not slip
Because of her grip
And if it can’t be real it’s still worth dreaming

This poem reminds me of what I'd love to do with some man, someday. I also very much like these two lines:
Can you take me where I am meant to be?
Where I can be free ..

Very good job.
