He has no Cares

He has no Cares

A Poem by Jay Russell

He has no cares
At nineteen he has no worries at all
And his words come out perfectly
As he stands so very tall
The girls want his attention
But it's in short supply
With so much running through his veins
He simply won't reply
Somewhere deep inside him there was a man

Tired of all the lies

But he’ll let no one near

His long blonde hair was dripping
From the incredible rain
On the first night he saw the girl
That would make him go insane
And when she gave him her name
There were no words he could say
He sat there staring mesmerized
As she slowly walked away

Forgetting her was futile
And he tried with all his might
Cause every girl that he's known
He's only known for a night
He never lets them get too near
To the heart he protects so much
He had no defenses strong enough
For the power of her touch

They're lives entwined
They simply couldn't be apart
So deep in love
, though they knew
Her fate was to soon depart
And when the day finally came
She had never seen him so blue
He tried to say fare-well
To the only love he knew
