we're not we

we're not we

A Poem by jcfrancis
"

written shortly after the death of a close friend, as i struggled daily with the loss of his presence, i stepped into his widow's shoes and wrote this in about 2 minutes.

"

we're not we

nowhere near where

need i be

you’re not here and

we’re not we

hollow wander

empty days

shrouds of clouds and

ink of haze

days and weeks gone

down the hole

body drags a

heavy soul

wish my mind could

find forget

long to join you

just not yet
