Daybreak

Daybreak

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

12/18/14

"
I'm lost
And the shade comes
To envelop my soul
I don't know
What to do
Anymore
Without you

Since I'm trapped
Deep in your eyes
So soft
And so kind
I've looked for you my whole life

And now that you're gone
I'm swallowed up
In our first song
Now that you've gone
I find I've cared for you all along
Now that you've run
So far from me
I find

I find that I'm lost
And the shade comes
To envelop my soul
And I don't know
What to do
Anymore
Without you

Return to me
I need you here
I've loved you all along
I've feared for you
Shed tears for you
I've been right beside you
Since the start

Since I'm caught
In your heartbeat
So strong
And so free
But my melancholy's beaten me

And I'm lost
As the shade comes
To envelop my soul
I don't know
What to do
Anymore
Without you

But now without you
I shine brighter than I used to
Now without you
My soul is moving on
Away with you!
Now without you
So close to me
I find

I find that I'm lost
And the shade comes
To envelop my soul
And I don't know
What the future
May hold
Without you

I've been set free
I've stayed so long
Somewhere I should not be
I've cried for you
I've died for you
But now I'm not afraid
To be me

Yeah you've gone
You're so cruel to me
I'm done
I'm free
We're done
This toxicity
Has been suffocating me

They say
That it's darkest
Just before the dawn...
Raise your weapons
And move on
