Trickster

Trickster

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

5/5/14 For my friend John

"
Last night
You broke me
For once I was afraid
I had thought Id lost you
That youd left without a trace
Id wondered if I hurt you
If your family tore you down
For I thought that I had lost you
That you were lost and could not be found
You said not a word to me
Or any of our friends
I thought that youd
Taken a knife to your wrist
That you had met your end
But I had hoped that you hated me
Since then youd be alive
That I was but a figment of the past,
The last stop in this part of your life
But last night you broke me
Heart wrenching deep inside
For as your friend, I love you
And when you came back
I couldn't help but cry
