Our Generation

Our Generation

A Poem by Riley Bray
"

12/4/15

"
We represent a new age
Our future has yet to be decided
Our generation's legacy
Yet to be etched into history
Truly, there is strength in numbers
Because if we combine our voices
There is no way we cannot be heard
We can demand change

In our age I call for justice

Justice for those guilty only
Of "walking while black"
Justice for those guilty only
Of loving people they cannot help but love

In our age I call for peace

For the sanctuary that our constitution promised
I call for equality
For the change we all know we need
The power lies within our hands to do so
And we have thunderous voices
So let's use them
Let's be the change we want to see
